Message definition (The logic of probabilistic language)

The so-called ‘objectivity’, as perceived by those outside scientific research, is defined when a community of rational beings shares the same state of information. But even in this case, one should speak more properly of ‘intersubjectivity’ (i.e. the sharing, by a group, of subjective opinions).

La soi-disant « objectivité », telle que perçue par les personnes extérieures à la recherche scientifique, est définie lorsqu'une communauté d'êtres rationnels partage le même état d'information. Mais même dans ce cas, il faudrait plutôt parler d'« intersubjectivité » (c'est-à-dire le partage, par un groupe, d'opinions subjectives)
