In a recent study, the authors focus on the question why researchers have cognitive and epistemic difficulties in conducting IDR. It is believed that the loss of philosophical interest in the epistemology of interdisciplinary research is caused by a philosophical paradigm of science called "Physics Paradigm of Science", which prevents recognition of important IDR changes in both the philosophy of science and research

Em um estudo recente, os autores enfocam a questão de por que os pesquisadores têm dificuldades cognitivas e epistêmicas na condução de IDR. Acredita-se que a perda do interesse filosófico na epistemologia da pesquisa interdisciplinar se deva a um paradigma filosófico da ciência denominado "Paradigma Físico da Ciência", que impede o reconhecimento de mudanças importantes de IDR tanto na filosofia da ciência quanto na pesquisa.
